The blueberry was ranked #1 in antioxidant activity by USDA researchers when compared to 40 other fruits and vegetables. Antioxidants are important because they counteract free-radicals in our system. There is a theory of aging due to free radicals that states people age because our cells accumulate free radical damage over time. Blueberry fountain of youth anyone?!
